WASHINGTON - The House Committee on Agriculture held a hearing to review the economic challenges facing rural America and to provide context for the needs of rural communities in the next farm bill. Congressman Jodey Arrington, a freshman member of the House Agriculture Committee, expressed the challenges farmers and ranchers in the 19th Congressional District are facing and the urgency needed to address them.
Washington – Today the United States House of Representatives passed legislation cosponsored by Congressman Jodey Arrington that would strike down an Obama Administration final rule which would unjustly deny certain Social Security beneficiaries their Second Amendment rights without due process.
The rule, finalized by President Obama in the "11th hour," would designate Social Security beneficiaries as having a mental impairment if they allow someone else to manage their finances.
Washington D.C. - Jodey Arrington, the newly-elected Congressman serving the Nineteenth District of Texas, fulfilled his commitment to the people of West Texas as he was officially appointed to the House Committee on Agriculture. Agriculture has been a central theme for Arrington both personally and professionally. A Plainview native, Arrington grew up in a family whose livelihood depended on the success of the agriculture industry.
Newly-elected Congressman for Texas’ Nineteenth District, Jodey Arrington, has been selected to serve on the House Budget Committee. The Constitution gives Congress the “power of the purse” which is the power to spend, collect revenue, and borrow. In his role, Arrington will push for significant budgetary reforms to be made in the 115th Congress. The most notable of these will be the repeal of Obamacare and reform of the tax code.
As he completes his first week on Congress, Representative Jodey Arrington (R-TX, 19th District) said his family and faith are two of the most important mainstays in his life.
The day he was sworn in, close friends and family joined him in his new office for a moment of prayer.
