Arrington Celebrates Lubbock Veterans Cemetery Announcement

LUBBOCK, TX – Today, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) joined the City of Lubbock for the State Veterans Cemetery Announcement Celebration.

He provided remarks at the event highlighting his gratitude for the teamwork and determination of our local leaders, state officials, and veterans’ community for making this a reality.

Remarks as Prepared for Delivery:

No one loves their men and women in uniform or appreciates the sacrifice and service of our veterans like West Texans.

Thank you to those one-percenters of every generation who put it all on the line for the greatest country in the world.

I can speak for everyone here when I say we treasure them dearly.

Our nation’s veterans are a monument of sacrifice, courage, valor, and patriotism.

All that’s good about America is embodied in them.

They are living monuments to American values and to our great experiment in liberty and democracy – which has only persisted because of their great courage and love for our country.

It’s an honor today to recognize those who wore the uniform and were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom.

Every veteran deserves a hero’s burial for their willingness to sacrifice life and limb to defend our great nation.

These freedom-loving men and women rightfully earned the most dignified resting place and will be eternally honored for the sacrifices they made for our great nation.

And families of these veterans in Lubbock will no longer have to worry about traveling to see their loved ones after they return home to our Lord and Savior.

I am grateful that I had the opportunity to bring stakeholders from across the country together to make this dream a reality.

I also want to thank our local leaders, state officials, and veterans’ community for their teamwork and persistent dedication to these efforts.

God bless all of our veterans in this country; God bless America and go West Texas.
