Arrington Statement on U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Announcement

Congressman Jodey C. Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement after the United States, Mexico, and Canada announced that a trilateral agreement had been reached.
“President Trump has delivered on his promise to renegotiate NAFTA in a way that works better for American workers, manufacturers, and agriculture producers.
“I believe in the extraordinary value of open markets, but the rules of trade must apply to all partner nations in a fair and reciprocal way.
“The main reason Canada and Mexico were willing to agree to new terms is simply this: we have a president who negotiates from strength and won’t fold under political pressure.”
