WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement on the one-year anniversary of the “Inflation Reduction Act” being signed into law.

“One year ago, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. A false promise under the guise of a grandiose title, the Inflation Reduction Act has wreaked havoc on our economy, our families, our national debt, and the direction of our country,” said Rep. Arrington. “The bill’s Green New Deal giveaways have exceeded projections by tens of billions of dollars, piling onto our already unsustainable national debt. Taxpayer dollars are flowing to Chinese companies, crippling American competitiveness and surrendering our energy independence. The IRA’s government-mandated price controls on drugs have chilled American innovation and will cause prescription drug prices to spike, keeping life-saving drugs out of reach for working American families. And, by flooding a sluggish economy with trillions more in federal spending, the IRA has kept prices high for Americans struggling to afford gas and groceries for their families.”
