WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement regarding the House of Representatives voting to authorize an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. “After months of extensive investigation by the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, I voted to authorize a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden. For years, members of the Biden family have engaged in a complex scheme of influence-peddling involving shady business practices with foreign adversaries, and there is evidence asserting that President Biden himself may have committed impeachable offenses relating to treason, bribery, or other crimes. Impeaching any president is a serious matter. The facts and fidelity to the Constitution should drive the process and determine the outcome – not politics. I have long maintained that an impeachment inquiry is justified and necessary to enforce congressional subpoenas, compel the White House to comply with our investigation, and uncover the facts to make a final decision.” ### |
