Washington, D.C. – Today, Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement ahead of his vote to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

“I am convinced that Secretary Mayorkas’ willful and continuous disregard for the laws of our land and his breach of public trust resulting in serious and systemic injury to our society represent not only a constitutional basis — but a sacred obligation — to impeach.

Impeaching Secretary Mayorkas is the right and responsible thing to do in faithfulness to the Constitution, in the protection of the American people, and in defense of the sovereignty of the United States of America.”
