Rep. Arrington and Director Patel celebrated a large operation to take down a narcotics trafficking ring affiliated with Mexican Drug Cartels in Lubbock, Texas.

Lubbock, TX – House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) celebrated a large operation to take down a narcotics trafficking ring affiliated with Mexican Drug Cartels in Lubbock, Texas.

“The Biden Administration willingly ceded operational control of our southern border to narco-terrorists drug cartels killing hundreds of thousands of our citizens and wreaking havoc across the country - and West Texas is on the front lines,” said Chairman Arrington. “President Trump has been clear - the days of surrendering the safety and security of our communities are over. I’m grateful for the leadership and resolve of FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Border Czar Tom Homan for last night’s successful mission in West Texas, and I’m praying for continued safety and success for our law enforcement officers on the front lines.”

“BREAKING: Tonight I can report yet another successful operation from our brave field agents and regional partners in our ongoing mission to break the drug Cartels,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “Earlier today, our teams executed a takedown and arrested 22 members of a narcotics trafficking ring in Lubbock, Texas — one who we believe to be working with the Mexican Cartels. Our FBI Dallas team did incredible work, partnering with Texas LEO, DEA HQ, and others. These are the operations that mean safer streets for American families. And we are just getting started.”

Background:

  • The operation in Lubbock is part of broader operations that have targeted top-level members of gangs and drug-trafficking rings operating in the United States.
    • Just in the past two months, the FBI has arrested three individuals on its top 10 most wanted list.
  • In addition to the operation in Lubbock, Director Patel and AG Bondi oversaw the arrest of the top MS-13 leader for the U.S. East Coast in an operation in Woodbridge, Virginia, just south of Washington, D.C.
    • Following the operations, AG Bondi said the “DOJ will not rest until we make America safe again.”
