Arrington’s One Big Beautiful Bill Prevents Medicaid from Covering Transgender Surgeries

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement on House passage of H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which bars Medicaid from covering transgender surgeries: 

“The American people deserve a government that protects children, respects taxpayers, and upholds the rule of law. Our budget reflects those values by ensuring taxpayer dollars are not used to fund controversial and irreversible procedures under the guise of healthcare. Instead, the One Big Beautiful Bill restores fiscal responsibility while safeguarding the innocence and well-being of our children," said Rep.
