KAMC: Texas girl asks for prayers on day of brain surgery

LUBBOCK, Texas (KLBK/KAMC) - A 9-year-old girl from Brownfield has a big request: to get the entire world to say a prayer for her on January 24. From Washington, D.C., to Austin and even England, she's reaching out to everyone asking for prayers. Congressman Jodey Arrington is one of many answering the call. Sophia Campa Peters suffers from a rare disease. Her brain is attacking the blood vessels in the brain, causing them to narrow and close. Basically, her brain is not getting enough blood. In her young life, she's already had several surgeries. Next Wednesday, she'll undergo brain surgery in Boston, Massachusetts. When her parents asked if she wanted or needed anything before the trip, Sophia simply said she would like the world to pray for her, and hopes it goes viral. "She's got her sense of humor and her zeal for life. I think sometimes people like Sophia who go through these things, they know a secret to this life that we don't. That is that it's a gift," said Congressman Jodey Arrington. Below are ways to spread Sophia's message: Sophia's website Facebook page Twitter page Article from EverythingLubbock.com
