As high level negotiations over another COVID-19 relief package continue, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following: “To pay people more on unemployment than in their previous jobs is a recipe for disaster,” explained Arrington. “If we don’t reopen and rebound with a strong recovery there will be far worse economic and social devastation in the long run than what we’re experiencing today. Any additional relief should be structured in a way that incentivizes safely reopening, getting kids back to school, and returning to normal.” |
