Arrington Named “American Energy Champion”

Today, after being named American Energy Alliance’s (AEA) American Energy Champion, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) and AEA President released the following statements:

“Being blessed with an abundance of energy resources and the freedom to safely develop them is a huge advantage for our country, and I am honored to be recognized as a leading advocate for the hardworking energy producers who fuel our nation’s economy,” said Arrington. “I will continue to be a strong voice for pro-energy, free-market policies because they lower costs for American consumers, strengthen our economy, and enhance our nation’s security by minimizing our reliance on foreign oil.”

“Texans know energy and Rep. Arrington is clearly a champion putting the interests of the people first.  His voting record earning him a 100% score reflects his support for expanding economic opportunity, too. His choices have encouraged private sector innovation and entrepreneurship while aiming to reduce the role of government in the energy markets,” stated Thomas Pyle, President, American Energy Alliance.

Background: According to recently published from the Railroad Commission of Texas, while statewide numbers are down this year compared to last, drilling permits, new oil completions, and new gas completions in the Permian Basin are up over the last few months compared to other regions in the state.
