Washington, D.C. – House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement after the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced initiation of a Section 301 investigation into China’s implementation of the Phase One Agreement:
“Under President Trump, China committed to historic purchases of American agriculture, energy, and manufactured goods,” said Chairman Arrington. “But, the Biden administration failed to hold China accountable, and those commitments were largely unmet. Now, with President Trump back in the White House, we have leadership that will hold China’s feet to the fire. I fully support President Trump and Ambassador Greer’s decision to launch a Section 301 investigation into China’s non-compliance, ensuring our farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers receive the fair treatment they deserve.”
