WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement in advance of Democrats’ reckless move to waive PAYGO (pay-as-you-go) for the $1.9T “COVID relief” legislation that passed along party lines earlier this month:

“Democrats used COVID to pass their massive, liberal spending spree. Now, they want to waive the requirement to pay for their boondoggle! Republicans should offer any number of options to cut wasteful spending from Democrats’ “COVID Relief” legislation or elsewhere. There is a fiscal crisis looming on the horizon that we will not be able to bail our children and grandchildren out of. There are ample options to offset cuts to Medicare. With no fiscal restraint and budget caps expiring, we desperately need bipartisan reforms to reduce our dangerous, unsustainable national debt.”
