LUBBOCK, TX — Today, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement applauding a federal district court’s decision to issue a preliminary injunction after the Biden Administration unilaterally and unconstitutionally rescinded a Texas’ Medicaid waiver, which had been previously approved by the Trump Administration. “Once again, our judicial system has stopped the overreach of the Biden Administration. For months, Biden’s HHS has been attempting to rescind a Trump era agreement to allow Texas to provide health care to its economically disadvantaged patients. The reinstatement of Texas’ Medicaid waiver is a victory for vulnerable patients throughout the Lone Star State and a reminder that the Executive Branch cannot weaponize agencies to advance its policies. I was proud to lead my colleagues in the Texas delegation in opposing this effort to force Texas to expand failed Obamacare policies, and applaud the district court’s decision to honor Texas’ previously-approved Medicaid waiver.” ### Congressman Jodey Arrington is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving the Nineteenth Congressional District of Texas. He serves as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
