Arrington Sends Letter to USDA Secretary Voicing Concern Over Vaccine Mandates

LUBBOCK, TX— Today, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) sent a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack urging him to provide USDA employees reasonable accommodations from vaccine mandates that threaten to leave the department, and specifically the Farm Service Agency, even more understaffed.

“President Biden’s heavy-handed vaccine mandates are outrageous and unconstitutional,” said Rep. Arrington. “At a time when Farm Service Agency offices are already severely understaffed, losing experienced employees because of unreasonable vaccine requirements will be devastating for our agriculture community. I implore Secretary Vilsack to respect the personal freedoms of every American and provide accommodations for these employees so that our agriculture producers have access to the services they need as we rapidly approach prime harvest time here in the Southwest.”
