Arrington Applauds Final Deal on USMCA, Urges Prompt House Passage

Today, Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement after House Democrats and the White House reached a deal on moving forward with passing the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA): “After a year of needless delay by Speaker Pelosi and Democrat leadership, we are finally ready to deliver a win for America and to farmers, ranchers, and workers across West Texas by passing the USMCA,” said Arrington. “I am proud to have worked alongside President Trump and my Republican colleagues to successfully advance a new and improved trade deal that will open new markets for our agriculture and energy producers, create tens of thousands of jobs for the American people, level the playing field for American workers, and grow our economy by $70 billion.” Republican Whip Steve Scalise (LA-1) praised Congressman Arrington’s work on the House Ways and Means Committee and in Congress to advance the USMCA toward passage: “Between his work on the Ways and Means Committee and service as a part of our USMCA Whip Team, Jodey has been a key player in making USMCA a reality,” said Scalise.This trade deal will be a major boost to our economy and is great news for American workers.
