WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to discuss the short-term funding bill – Continuing Resolution (CR) – to prevent a government shutdown on Friday, September 30, and what it will take for Republicans to restore fiscal sanity in Washington, which is highlighted in his latest Fox News op-ed.

“There are monies in there [the CR] for energy assistance, but nothing to get at the underlying problem, which is the whole-of-government assault by this Administration against the fossil fuels industry,” said Rep. Arrington. “There is nothing about supply chains, nothing to do with the drug epidemic we’re facing, and there’s nothing about the root cause of that drug epidemic, which is the flood of drugs coming over our open borders.”

“To say this [growing national debt] is on an unsustainable path is an understatement, and Republicans have an historic opportunity…we have to demonstrate to ourselves, our own Party, and voters, that we can restore fiscal responsibility, rein-in spending, and enforce budget controls…or we’ll find ourselves in a crisis,” Rep. Arrington stated.
