WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement in response to an address given by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a Joint Session of Congress:
“I appreciate the gratitude President Zelensky expressed on behalf of his countrymen for the generosity of the American people. Most Americans want to help the Ukrainian people in their fight for their freedom and independence, but they are incensed – as am I – by the fact that Democrats are willing to spend billions of dollars on Ukraine’s security while totally failing to spend a dime to protect our own citizens against an invasion at our southern border. I can’t celebrate using billions of taxpayer dollars to help another country while politicians allow our own nation to burn to the ground.”
