WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last week, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) reintroduced the Continuing Robust and Uninhibited Drilling and Exporting (CRUDE) Act of 2023 to restrict President Biden’s ability to impose an export ban on crude oil without first proving a credible national security risk. “Any signal from the Biden Administration to ban exports of crude oil is completely misguided and will result in continued higher energy costs for American consumers, hurt our domestic producers, and weaken our energy independence. I am proud to reintroduce the CRUDE Act to prevent the Biden Administration from weaponizing trade policies to destroy the oil and gas industry and America’s global energy dominance,” said Rep. Arrington. “As the world’s leading producer of natural gas and oil, America can and should lead the world in addressing today’s energy challenges. The CRUDE Act strengthens American energy leadership and protects the U.S. crude oil exports that our allies – including those in Europe – depend on to meet their energy needs. We appreciate Congressman Arrington’s commitment to prioritizing American natural gas and oil as a long-term strategic asset,” said Lance West, VP of Federal Relations, American Petroleum Institute. “Crude exports save Americans money at the pump, support thousands of good-paying American jobs, and supports our allies around the globe. We appreciate Congressman Arrington’s commitment to protecting crude oil exports,” said Anne Bradbury, CEO, American Exploration & Production Council. ### |
