Arrington Reintroduces Legislation Calling for a Convention of States to Propose a Fiscal Responsibility Amendment to U.S. Constitution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This month, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) reintroduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives that would require Congress to call an Article V Convention of the States to propose a fiscal responsibility amendment to the United States Constitution.

“After a short time in Washington, it is abundantly clear that Congress completely lacks the political will to control our finances, which is why I introduced legislation to force Congress to rein in spending and restore fiscal sanity to our nation’s capital,” Rep. Arrington said. “I hope my colleagues will join me in encouraging states to exercise their constitutional right to put a check on the unbridled spending of the federal government.”
