Washington, D.C. – Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement after his vote in support of H.R. 4639 – Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act:

“The Bill of Rights is clear and affords our citizens protection against unreasonable search and seizure. Yet, for years, federal agencies like the FBI have sidestepped the Constitution and powered their mass surveillance machine by purchasing some of Americans’ most sensitive, personal information from data brokers. 

“I’m proud to support my friend and colleague Warren Davidson in our fight to secure our liberty, end these warrantless searches of Americans, and protect their sacred Fourth Amendment right.”
