Arrington Demands U.S. Sanction ICC Officials Following Netanyahu Arrest Warrant

Washington, D.C. – Following today’s announcement from the International Criminal Court (ICC) that it issued a warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s arrest, Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) demanded the United States immediately sanction ICC officials.

“The International Criminal Court has no legitimate authority to infringe on the sovereign right of a democratic country to defend itself against terrorist attacks,” said Arrington. “The United States must stand up for Israel’s inherent right of self-defense and immediately sanction ICC officials.”

Earlier this month, Chairman Arrington led his colleagues in slamming the ICC’s reported decision to issue warrants against Israeli officials, urging the Biden administration to impose sanctions should the court move forward with the warrants.
