Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show District 19 Representative Jodey Arrington joined the program to talk about the latest hot topics in the news, including President Trump's "round-table" meeting yesterday where he made extremely controversial comments about possible solutions to gun violence, that referred to side-stepping due process of the law to prevent possibly mentally unstable people from keeping firearms. Arrington said, "We don't have the Second Amendment because of a strong tradition of hunting in this country. We don't have the Second Amendment just because of the inherent right of self defense. We have it, because we couldn't fight and win our independence, and we couldn't protect ourselves and be the last check on the check-and-balance of a country gone rogue and a tyrannical government...We've got to go back to the original intent because history is littered with bad people who do bad things, and then when they take over governments they use that government to do a lot worse than what happened in Florida, and we've got to protect [against] that." Arrington continued, saying, "This notion that we take people's guns and then we go to the courts [afterwards], is completely upside down, and I oppose that....Let's all take a deep breath and remember that it's bad people and crazy people, deranged people with murderous intent, [that] are the ones that we've got to stop." Hasty also asked Arrington about his recent appointment by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan to the Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform, and what it means. http://kfyo.com/representative-jodey-arrington-opposes-confiscation-of-firearms-from-citizens-without-due-process-of-law-interview/Listen to the entire interview with Representative Jodey Arrington in the video above.
