Washington, D.C. – House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) celebrated final passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which provides $900.6 billion to strengthen America’s military and advance President Trump’s national security priorities, while securing $120 million for Dyess Air Force Base – the largest authorized investment in the history of the base. “The first and most important job of the federal government is to provide for the common defense, and this year's National Defense Authorization Act provides the resources and support our military needs to do just that. This legislation advances President Trump’s Peace Through Strength doctrine by investing in our warfighters, reinforcing merit and accountability at the Pentagon, and restoring focus on lethality — not left-wing woke ideology. “This legislation also delivers major wins for Dyess Air Force Base and the Big Country, including $102.7 million for new B-21 Mission Planning Facilities, $12.8 million in critical utilities and site improvements, $4.5 million to begin long-overdue gate repairs for base security, an extension of the B-1 through 2030, support for the C-130J fleet, and critical investments in the next generation of airpower to keep Dyess the tip of the spear of America’s air arsenal. “This represents the largest authorized investment in the history of Dyess Air Force Base - a testament to its enduring role in service to our country and the brave men and women who embody the best of West Texas as they stand ready every day to defend us.” – Chairman Jodey Arrington.
