Washington, D.C. – Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement after the Supreme Court of the United States ruled on the Trump Administration's tariff authority: “President Trump’s and Ambassador Greer’s hard-fought trade agreements have reduced our trade deficit, facilitated record exports, and quadrupled customs revenue. The agreements have strengthened both our nation’s economy and our future fiscal health. Congress should immediately codify the President’s reciprocal trade agreements, which would make these deals more durable, enforceable, and effective in the long run. If this can’t be done in a bipartisan fashion, Republicans should use reconciliation—the most potent legislative tool in our toolbox—to safeguard our economic and national security interests.” – Chairman Arrington.
