Arrington Leads Letter to ICE on Failure to Release Annual Report

WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) led 39 Members of Congress in sending a letter to U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Tae Johnson regarding ICE’s failure to release its annual report for Fiscal Year 2021. The annual report contains vitally important information, including in-depth crime data on gang members, known terrorists, and illegal aliens with prior criminal convictions who infiltrated U.S. borders. For the first time in more than a decade, ICE has failed to provide its annual report, leaving Congress, agencies, and the public in the dark.

“Since President Biden took office, over 2 million illegal immigrants have broken our laws, crossed our southern border, and flooded into communities throughout the US,” said Rep. Jodey Arrington. “Because of President Biden’s self-inflicted border crisis, every state is a border state, and every community is vulnerable to increased criminal activity. Data shows a nearly 350% increase in arrests of illegal immigrants with criminal convictions. It is inexcusable – but not surprising – that this Administration has failed to release the ICE annual report. Providing timely and accurate data to the American people is a basic function of government, and I implore the Biden Administration to release its ICE annual report immediately.”
