WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Rep. Jodey C. Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s address to Congress. “I have the utmost respect for President Zelenskyy, who loves his country and is bravely willing to fight, and even die, alongside his fellow Ukrainians for their freedom and independence. An attack on freedom-loving democracies anywhere in the world is an affront to the United States. America must be prudent but resolved in protecting our national interests in Eastern Europe by providing the Ukrainians the necessary war machines and weaponry without enlisting our sons and daughters in the conflict. To date, President Biden’s actions have been habitually slow and half-measured. It is past time to bring the full force of economic sanctions against Russia. The White House and Congress must exhaust all options to help the people of Ukraine fight for their freedoms and save their country.”—Rep. Jodey C.
