WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement in support of Elon Musk following Musk’s announcement he will be stepping down from his role as Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump:

“Elon Musk is the definition of a patriot. He made tremendous personal and professional sacrifices to take on a thankless and nearly impossible mission to save the country he loves.

“Few have done more since President Reagan to awaken the American people to the clear and present danger of reckless spending and the looming threat of a debt crisis. 

“We should not only appreciate Elon’s courageous leadership, but follow it by holding Washington accountable, rooting out waste, and restoring fiscal sanity before the debt burden crushes the future of this great nation.”
