WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision in Perdomo v. Noem, which allows the Department of Homeland Security to continue removing dangerous criminal aliens from our communities: “Today's Supreme Court decision is a critical victory for law and order and the safety of the American people,” said Chairman Arrington. “Federal immigration laws exist for a reason, and those who come to our country illegally must be held accountable. This ruling ensures DHS can continue enforcing the law without unnecessary legal roadblocks, keeps dangerous criminals off our streets, and protects communities.” Background: The Supreme Court issued a 6-3 reinforcing the federal government’s authority to enforce immigration laws as written by Congress.
