Arrington Applauds Trump’s Economic Assistance Package for Farmers

Washington, D.C. - Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement after President Trump announced a $12 billion economic assistance package to support American farmers:
"President Trump has taken bold steps to tear down unfair foreign trade barriers that have held back American agriculture for decades,” said Chairman Arrington. "In just the first year of his second term, he’s already secured new agreements with more than a dozen countries that will strengthen demand for West Texas crops and livestock. But rebalancing a global trade system stacked against American producers isn’t easy and requires tough negotiations. That’s why I’m grateful the President is using a portion of the record tariff revenues - just as he successfully did in his first term to keep producers in the game - to provide short-term support for our great farmers and ranchers while the future benefits of these new trade deals are solidified.”
