Arrington Issues Statement in Support of Court Order To Reinstate “Remain in Mexico Policy”

Lubbock, TX— Today, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement applauding U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s decision to order the Biden administration to revive the “Remain in Mexico Program.”

“I commend the U.S. District Court’s decision to order the Biden administration to reimplement the Migrant Protection Protocols program (MPP), also known as “Remain in Mexico.” This Trump administration policy was critical to stemming the flow of illegal immigration by forcing illegal immigrants to wait in Mexico while their asylum claims were adjudicated.

“I also want to commend Attorney General Paxton for fighting the Biden administration’s reckless policy decision to terminate these protocols. President Biden and Vice President Harris have utterly failed to fulfill their sacred constitutional duty to faithfully execute the laws of the land and “provide for the common defense,” leaving the border states entirely abandoned by their federal government. I will continue to do everything within my power to hold the Biden administration accountable for their disastrous open border policies.”
