Arrington Visits Crosby County To Discuss Challenges Facing West Texas

Crosbyton, TX, August 17, 2021

CROSBYTON, TX— Today, Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) visited his friends and fellow West Texans in Crosby County to discuss the latest challenges facing healthcare providers, agriculture producers, mom-and-pop businesses, and community leaders.

Rep. Arrington met with community leaders in Crosby County representing local government for both the county and city, law enforcement officers, and healthcare providers. 

As Rep. Arrington summarized:

“As schools reopen across the country, I am eternally grateful for the West Texas teachers who took the risk of going back to the classroom and prioritizing our kids. I’m deeply concerned with the Radical Left and their influence within the Democrat Party and on our public policy. Their demands for defunding the police have created a growing crime wave, undermining the safety of both our citizens and law enforcement. On top of that, Texas is reeling from the consequences of President Biden’s self-inflicted border crisis and the unprecedented deluge of human trafficking, drugs, and crime pouring into our country. West Texans respect the men and women in blue, are sick and tired of this lawlessness, and roundly reject the policies that are compromising our safety and liberty.”

Rep. Arrington also met with Crosby County agriculture leaders to discuss the issues that they face day in and day out, as well as what they face moving forward. 

As Rep. Arrington has said:

“Biden’s economic policies of tax and spend along with his ‘Green New Deal’ regulations have resulted in lower wages, inflation, and a labor shortage across the country. His plan to pay for his policies includes a devastating ‘Death Tax’ that would result in the largest scale liquidation of family farming and ranching operations in the history of our country. It’s clear this punitive tax provision to double the ‘Death Tax’ is the single biggest threat to our agriculture producers, small businesses, and rural communities. Biden’s punishing tax proposals for oil and gas would increase prices at the pump, compromise our energy independence, and mortally wound small, independent producers in West Texas. Sadly, President Biden’s policies will trap more of our citizens in poverty and government dependence through a massive expansion of welfare programs that disincentivizes work. I am unwaveringly committed to fighting President Biden’s socialist agenda, protecting our freedoms, and promoting West Texas values.”

Rep. Arrington visited Regional Health Mart to advocate for local pharmacies that provide top-quality care to local families, helping improve West Texans’ health and wellness. Pharmacies like Health Mart serve our communities and provide the resources and information with pharmacists they know and trust.

Rep. Arrington has long been a vocal advocate in Congress for more affordable prescriptions for American patients. He recently has introduced several pieces of legislation to lower drug costs by bringing greater transparency to prescription drug pricing negotiations, fighting back against foreign freeloading, and ensuring drug rebates go directly to seniors at the pharmacy counter.
